Do me a favour….

Do me a favour, will you. I was just sitting here reflecting on the past few months and thinking of all the things I had meant to do but never got around to it; Rides into the countryside, new tattoos, PhD interviews, travel to the States and Western Canada, exploring my neighbourhood, buying a can of compressed air to clean my overheating laptop’s heatsink, trying new places to eat, reading, emailling friends, taking time to hang with new T.O. peeps, visiting family more, washing my smelly shoes(!), eating healthy, emailing academics….and the list goes on…

Do me a favour and make time for the things you love. Do what needs to be done now. Don’t go to sleep if that’s what it takes! I hate looking back and feeling as though I missed things. Always have been one to live in the present and seize every moment as it comes. There’s too much awesome stuff out there. What happened? Just say YES! There is already not enough time to do all of the things I possibly want to do in this life…places to go…people to meet…. wondrous things to see (and by wondrous I mean random meadows, new friends, campfires, sunsets and rooftops of buildings - not Eiffel Tower’s and giant waterfalls and famous cathedrals and tourist book stuff).

“If the Stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore; and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God which had been shown! But every night come out these envoys of beauty, and light the universe with their admonishing smile.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

…don’t turn on the TV. Smile it will make the people around you do the same.
